Tallinn, April 2, 2019 – The Internet of Things solution, based on Levira IoT solution which include Kamstrup smart water meters with Sigfox connectivity, allows Viimsi Vesi to measure remotely and automatically once a day the water consumption of its customers and do rapid assessments for monthly billing reporting. In case irregular behaviour of meters is detected e.g. water leaks, the alarms are delivered in real-time.
The solution offers a simple and efficient way to measure water consumption and brings down complexity for the residents and consumers for reporting the usage of water which in turn helps Viimsi Vesi to achieve cost savings from receiving accurate and timely information. The Kamstrup MULTICAL® 21 has a long battery life of 16 years in order to provide flexible solutions for utility companies.
“Viimsi Vesi is always looking for the next generation technologies that are matching our needs, to provide the clients with best-quality services. This is why we decided to team up with Levira, an experienced industry leader in the field of radio communications software solutions, as well as with Sigfox, provider of a global IoT network, and with Kamstrup that delivers high-end technology for metring.” says Pille Arula, CFO of AS Viimsi Vesi.
Digital services provider Levira was very quick to understand Viimsi Vesi business needs and come up with the solution. Levira integrated the solution components and connectivity for an end-to-end solution and readiness to expand the big data analytics solution. This allows AS Viimsi Vesi to get a deeper understanding and patterns analysis for water consumption and trigger actions.
“In Viimsi Vesi’s project, Levira with partners Sigfox and Kamstrup are demonstrating the real value of IoT solutions and we offer to our clients possibilities to fully focus on their core business.” says Meelis Anton, Member of Management Board of AS Levira.
Estonia is known to be an early adopter of cutting-edge technologies and is the country where almost half of its population voted online during the last parliamentary elections in 2019. Sigfox is proving to be the right solution when deploying IoT projects in Estonia with recent cases on smart city waste management and now with water utility.
“We are happy to offer our reliable Sigfox IoT connectivity through our partner Levira to this excellent project considering that Kamstrup MULTICAL® 21 communicates natively with Sigfox and the data from our Sigfox Cloud is transferred in real-time to Levira IoT platform. In addition, this will allow AS Viimsi Vesi for many upcoming years to get wirelessly real-time data and provide value-added services to its customers based on data analysis,” says Kushtrim Xhakli, CEO and Co-Founder of Connected Baltics, Sigfox exclusive operator in Estonia.
Levira, Connected Baltics and Kamstrup plan to offer the same solution to other water companies in Northern Europe in 2019.
